Forbes commended for efforts in Washington

Published 9:45am Friday, October 12, 2012

To the Editor:

Randy Forbes is doing a great job promoting growth of jobs in this region.

He is consistently working to increase business opportunities, which bring jobs. Small businesses are the major employer in this economy, and he fights to protect small business owners.

Randy Forbes has worked with our region to attract businesses and jobs back to Tidewater. Just recently International Paper re-opened the Franklin Mill, which will eventually go a long way in helping alleviate some of our unemployment problems.

Taxes and regulations harm businesses, but the greater burden falls on small businesses because they can’t afford to hire someone to make sure they comply with everything. Financially, they have less flexibility.

We must continue to work for fewer taxes and less regulation. Randy Forbes will fight for these. If we want this region to grow, we need to reelect Randy Forbes.

He is critical to our well being as a region.

Randy Forbes is one of the best Congressmen I have ever seen in Washington. He cares about the people he represents. And he works hard for them and his district. But the best thing I can say about him is that he is a “statesman” and not just a politician. I urge you to vote for Randy Forbes in November.

We are fortunate to have Congressman Forbes as our representative.

Considering the actions of many Congressmen/Congresswomen in our country right now imagine what could be accomplished if they followed Forbes example.

RE: “He is critical to our well being as a region.”

10,000% agreement! Ray Charles — who is both blind and dead — could discern Congressman Forbes’ positive $financial$ impact on his District!

As Chairman of the House Armed Services Readiness Subcommittee and being on the Committee on Armed Services — Congressman Forbes is uniquely positioned to “$bring home the bacon$” to his District in the form of $defense spending$. The ancillary benefit of this defense spending is the trickle effect for many small businesses/subcontractors in his District.

Strictly from a jobs creation POV — Congressman Forbes deserves reelection. His (D) opponent would have to start at the bottom of the seniority ladder and would not have his “$bring home the bacon$” to the District clout!
