Missing woman’s wallet, shoes found

Published 11:00am Monday, December 10, 2012

COURTLAND—A wallet and pair of shoes belonging to a missing Lynchburg woman were found at 11 a.m. Saturday at Plank and Ivor roads outside Courtland, the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Before authorities could begin a search with bloodhounds, they learned the owner of the items — Brandi Monique Thomas, 27 — had been found. Thomas apparently had been involved in an accident in Suffolk and was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, said Major Gene Drewery, who is with the sheriff’s office.

A worker for the City of Norfolk, which has a water pumping station nearby, found the wallet and shoes, Drewery said.
