SHS lose district opener

COURTLAND—The Greensville girls’ basketball team defeated Southampton High 46-33 during Friday’s Southside District opener.modest

Greensville led 11-10 at the end of the first quarter and 25-14 at the half, and took a 38-18 lead into the final quarter.

Junior Talisha Jenkins led the Lady Indians with 16 points, including one 3-pointer, and senior DeMone Brickhouse added 6.

Greensville committed 12 fouls and Southampton made 13.

Southampton will play Northampton today, Dec. 17, on the road.
