Information sought in Boykins theft

BOYKINS—Authorities are looking for information related to an Oct. 26 theft of a laptop computer and merchandise from Southern Belle Antiques in Boykins.

The theft occurred at 5:30 p.m. when the store at 32127 S. Main St. was open and the owner had stepped to the back for a few minutes, police reported .

Anyone with information is asked to call the Franklin/Southampton Crime Line at 653-2900. Callers remain anonymous and are not required to testify in court. Callers may receive up to $1000 for information leading to an arrest.

    Actually…..the owner did not “step to the back”. She went next door into the restaurant, returned & found a Boykins “crackhead” had stolen the laptop.

    Sad lesson to be learned right here at Christmas. Don’t leave anything of any value unattended, especially in Boykins. Hope they get their possession back, but they’re probably sold or traded for drugs by now. It’s just sad that nobody can be trusted any more.
