Mr. Sir Walter Majette of Taft Drive, Portsmouth, Va., passed January 25, 2013.Harvard

He was born April 30, 1923, to the late Hosea and Mary E. Barnes Majette in Southampton County, Va.

A homegoing service will be held at noon on Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, 346 Boones Bridge Road, Como, N.C., with the pastor, Reverend Elliott Hill, delivering the message of comfort. The interment is in the church cemetery.

A traditional service with dignity will be conducted by Wm. M. Johnson & Sons, Inc., 224 S. Main St., Franklin, Va.
