Walter Harvey “Pop Pop” Umphlett Sr., 90, of Gates County, N.C., died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013.

Mr. Umphlett retired as a superintendent at Tidewater Construction Co.

He is survived by sons W. Harvey Umphlett Jr. of Branchville, J. Wayne Umphlett of

Carrsville, Michael Umphlett of Moyock, N.C., and C. Dale Umphlett of Purcellville.

A funeral will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk.
