Telephone scam reported in Franklin

FRANKLIN—Franklin police reported a scam that involved a resident receiving phone calls from someone with a thick Jamaican accent, who claims he’s with the federal government and offering $10 million.

To get the money, a fee of less than $100 is required.

“Needless to say, this has proven to be bogus,” said Lt. Tim Whitt.
