March 2-3, the 17U team competed in a tournament at the Richmond Volleyball Club. On the day they swept their bracket, they began by defeating the host team, RVC Metro, in straight sets. The ladies then went on to beat Valley Juniors, Charlottesville Area Volleyball Club and Ocean Volleyball Club to take first place in the tournament.

March 8-10, the team traveled to Salem, Va., to compete in the Shamrock Festival Tournament. Beginning the weekend with a college showcase Friday at the Salem Civic Center performing skills sets to allow college scouts an opportunity evaluate talent and then were placed into team situations to participate in scrimmages.

With up to 15 courts going at one time, it looked like a huge bingo machine with all of the volleyballs in the air.

The girls began the day Saturday defeating Peninsula Juniors in straight sets, before falling to Mid Atlantic Volleyball Club. It was an up and down day looking very sharp at times and struggling at others. Sunday was another story. The girls played hard all day and entered the championship round against an 18U team from North Carolina. Blackwater lost 23-25 and 24-26, to end the tournament in second place.

There was also a lot of college activity, with a least five colleges expressing interest in club members.
