FHS girls netters lose close one to Brunswick

FRANKLIN—The Lady Bulldogs tennis team were in Franklin on Wednesday, May 14 to take on the Lady Broncos at the tennis courts at Franklin High School. The Lady Broncos put up a good fight, but they ultimately came out short, losing 4-5.

The singles matches were playing an eight-game pro set. Mura Zurfluh (FHS) started off in seed 1, losing 2-8 to L. Lee (BHS). No. 2 seed Sylvanna Bocook (FHS) won 8-1 against A. Coleman (BHS). Cheyene Banks (FHS) defeated D. Stith 8-5 (BHS) on the No. 3 court. Shadeejah Hunt (FHS) won 8-3 against D. Malone (BHS). C. Jones and T. Harrison (BHS) won default.

Doubles matches played using a 8 game pro set. The No. 1 team of Zurfluh and Bocook (FHS) lost 2-8 to Lee and Stith (BHS). The No. 2 team of Banks and Hunt (FHS) defeated Coleman and Malone (BHS) 9-8 (7-2)

The team of Jones and Harrison (BHS) won by default.
