Reader is against ‘cap and trade’ legislation

Published Friday, December 18, 2009

To the Editor:

Simply defined, “cap and trade” legislation is a fast track to national bankruptcy.

Back in the late ’60s through the early ’80s it was global cooling and we would ultimately freeze to death.

However, in the late 1990s, the liberals found that global warming would fulfill their dreams of a world that could be governed by a central governing body should they be able to control energy, healthcare, manufacturing, education and commerce using a global currency.

At this very moment, we are faced with the possibility of a total government-run health care system in the near future, which will ultimately lead us down the road to socialized medicine like so much of the rest of the world, thus making it more likely to become a part of a one world system.

Secondly, we are now seriously considering being a part of the community of nations who are eager to embrace “cap and trade” which basically puts huge tax burdens on any user of energy that emits carbon dioxide.

These taxes will be passed on to the consumer who uses electricity, gasoline, oil, natural gas or manufacturers who use any form of energy to make their products.

Likewise, the farmer is caught up in this web, and all food products will bear a part of the increased cost for emitting carbon dioxide into the environment.

President Obama has just recently advised us that the cost of electricity will increase dramatically, along with most every other thing that we use.

While the U.S. produces only 6 percent of the world’s emissions, we will pay far more than any other country for our participation.

I might have taken this more seriously if the writer had not brought up all this one world government conspiracy tripe.

Come on sweetwater you just can not dismiss this out of hand. Nine out of ten countries in the world, will be exempt from this treaty. One of the main provisions of the "global warming treaty", will be to make reparations to third world countries thru the UN, for alleged US's past greed, and harm to it's enviorment. Whose to say, that the US will not be held responsible for all imagined enviornmental damage to a country, when the world is continuing to listen to bad enviornmental science. 85% of all large enviornmental groups budgets, comes from suing either a corporation or suing the US government. Just this week the Southern Enviornmental Law Center, entered a suit against the Army Corps. of Engineers. These are the types of enviornmentalist, that thru the UN, would cripple any future development of this country. Tax and trade would indeed ruin this country. Smell the roses, sweetwater.

I dismiss the following statements "out of hand" as you say:

"...liberals found that global warming would fulfill their dreams of a world that could be governed by a central governing body..."

"At this very moment, we are faced with the possibility of a total government-run health care system in the near future, which will ultimately lead us down the road to socialized medicine like so much of the rest of the world, thus making it more likely to become a part of a one world system."

Just look at that last quote for a moment; It begins " At this very moment" meaning NOW. and in the SAME SENTENCE he used the following: qualifiers:
"possibility" of total government run healthcare in the
"near future" which will
"ultimately lead"
"down the road"...making it
"more likely" to become a one world system.

These are paranoid ramblings, not aimed at serious discussion but at partisan discord.

This country's love affair with fossil fuels is more likely to lead to its ruin than cap&trade, nationalized health care, gay marriage, or whatever cause de jour the party of NObama is against.

Liberalism, is a dead movement, devoid of all human kindness, a self serving philosophy, whose main tenet is the total enslavment of mankind, thru the illusion of a benevolent based dictatorial form of government. Liberalism is really only a disguised four letter word.

chucky, I for one love fossil fuels, I could care less about gay marriage, if one wants to wake up each morning with a companion sporting a five o'clock beard, that's his personal choice. However, I love fossil fuel's ability to create drugs that save lives, it's ability to transport people around the world, it's ability to clothe us, and for the hundreds of other uses it provides mankind, in order to make our lives more tolerable. Why would any thinking person believe that fossil fuel is harmful. When those, who oppose to it's use, destroys all of their supporting data that advocates it's banning. Possibly, that data was false and skewed? Why is it, that all liberals suffer from acute psychasthenia? Let hope that the more liberal adherents of your cause de ju're , would just increase their support of abortion, thus eliminating your breed. Climate warming, surly you jest. Please no more derrogatory references to our president.

More paranoid ramblings. I bet you two (bluedog and grantsara) were among the ones going out and stockpiling ammunition last summer. Oh, and thanks for that nice bit about abortion eliminating liberals grantsara... I think you have proven my point about you and your ilk doing nothing more than spewing partisan tripe and discord. I think you are both mentally ill.

sweetwater, have you ever been treated for paranoia? You seem to be very familar with the affliction's symptoms. Typical liberal ill informed utterances. The standard contrived references, to any disagreement on any question or answer. Well, you (liberals) do seem to be fascinated with abortions. I however am not pro choice or pro life, if however you (liberals) want them, I encourage you (liberals) to avail yourself to the procedure. I left all thoughts of a government supplied utopia, in my freshman year. Reality, dawned on me, that such a state of being, was totally impossible. Liberalism in this country, makes Karl M. seem like a piker.Take care my friend, and a very merry christmas to you, and to your toady minions. I would have used, of your ilk, but you beat me to it. . Oh, and one question, why are we not hearing every day about how many of our loved ones died today, in the mideast. Was this just an insincere and callous use of the figures for cheap campaigm purposes?

Alas, I cannot avail myself of an abortion. I am a male and therefore lack the requisite reproductive organs. Any other suggestions?

sweetwater, be calm, Sen. Webb, was kind enough to forward, his copy of the omibus universal health care bill. He claimed he was not going to read it, as Harry Reid, had assured him it was ok. Anyway, have no fear, on page 2387, under approved child prevention, just following abortion procedures there it was, in black and white, Vasectomies. Now all is right in the world. Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah.

My wife had me neutered 8 years ago, but only after we had already reproduced our little liberals. Sorry.

I have not seen any evidence that you are too liberal for bunita based on your posts. In fact I just assumed from your posts that you were bunita. Anyway, tell bunita that grantsara has taken up his cause with vigor and is representing the philosophy of "NO" very well.
