Human remains found at construction site

FRANKLIN—Construction workers at the Franklin Summit condominium development on North College Drive found “a couple of partial remains” while digging at the site Tuesday, according to Franklin Police Chief Phil Hardison.
Franklin police responded to investigate, and the remains were taken to a medical lab for analysis. Hardison said it’s unlikely that a crime had been committed.
“We have no reason to believe foul play is involved,” he said.
Hardison said a likely scenario is that the site is an old burial ground or cemetery.
The remains “appear to be very old,” he said.
