A 1999 Pontiac Grand Am that had been reported stolen from Ahoskie, N.C., in October was found Thursday in a pond owned by International Paper.

George Stroud of Suffolk drops a dollar into the Salvation Army kettle outside Wal-Mart in downtown Suffolk, as volunteer Linda Godwin rings the bell. The Salvation Army’s holiday fund drive will continue through Christmas.
