A long, cold winter drags on in Western Tidewater, but the grand prizes in the Franklin Rotary Club’s annual Bowl-a-Thon conjure images of warmer days ahead. Rotarians Elliott Whitfield (left) and Taylor Williams visited Franklin Bowling Center this week to promote the Feb. 27 event’s grand prizes — a three-night cruise to the Bahamas and a cookout for 50 people, courtesy of Williams. The bowler who raises the most money will choose between the two prizes. The runner-up fundraiser will get the other grand prize.
