Tidewater News is proud to recognize Michael A. DeMayo, founder and CEO of DeMayo Law Offices, LLP, as Community Leader of the Month. His unwavering dedication to youth advocacy, education, and roadway safety has once again made a meaningful impact across the Charlotte metropolitan region.
Now in its 23rd year, the firm’s Arrive Alive Scholarship Program awarded $50,000 in scholarships to 10 high school seniors across five counties. This long-standing initiative underscores the firm’s mission to not only serve justice in the courtroom but also champion preventive education in the community. Since its inception, the program has awarded more than $800,000 in scholarships to deserving students who exhibit both academic promise and a passion for peer-led prevention of drunk and distracted driving.
The 2025 Arrive Alive Scholars—representing a broad mix of ethnic and cultural backgrounds—will be attending top universities including Yale, UNC-Chapel Hill, Wake Forest, and the University of South Carolina. These students were selected not only for academic excellence but also for their personal experiences and advocacy presentations encouraging safer driving habits among teens.
“On behalf of the entire DeMayo Law team, we want to extend our congratulations to the 2025 scholarship winners for their commitment to academic excellence, community involvement and unparalleled insights into drunk and distracted driving prevention,” said Michael DeMayo. “Together, we can make a difference.”
Tidewater News commends Michael DeMayo for leading with purpose, investing in the next generation, and exemplifying what it means to be a true community leader.
