In today’s rapidly evolving industrial landscape, minority-owned enterprises play a critical role in driving inclusive innovation, job creation, and regional economic development. At the forefront of this movement is Mauricio Pincheira, a transformative executive who brings over 25 years of leadership in the automotive and energy sectors. Known for his strategic acumen, operational discipline, and commitment to community impact, Pincheira is currently leading one of North America’s most prominent minority-owned companies toward new heights of growth and innovation.

About Mauricio Pincheira
As head of the Automotive and Industrial business at The Chemico Group, Mauricio oversees a $200 million operation employing over 800 people across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Chemico is one of the largest minority-owned chemical management and distribution companies on the continent. With full P&L responsibility, Pincheira is accountable for business strategy, profitability, customer performance, and continuous improvement. Under his leadership, the company is scaling operations while maintaining a deep commitment to quality, sustainability, and workforce development.
Pincheira’s unique blend of corporate, private equity, and startup experience enables him to lead Chemico with agility and vision. He previously served in executive roles at General Motors, managing large-scale global manufacturing operations and spearheading strategic corporate initiatives. His expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and engineering-driven business transformation has been instrumental in driving operational excellence and bottom-line growth throughout his career.
Following his tenure at GM, Mauricio transitioned into private equity, where he led North American operations for a global battery manufacturer. There, he was deeply involved in mergers and acquisitions, leading post-acquisition integration and enterprise transformation initiatives. These experiences gave him a broad view of how to position minority-owned firms for competitive advantage in capital-intensive and innovation-driven industries.
But for Mauricio, leadership goes beyond metrics — it’s also about mission. As a bilingual Latino leader, he is passionate about empowering underrepresented communities through education, mentorship, and opportunity. He supports STEM education initiatives for minority youth and serves on the board of Just Cause, a nonprofit helping formerly incarcerated individuals reintegrate into society through training and support.
Throughout his career, Mauricio has actively promoted Latino leadership in business and engineering. He has held leadership roles in the GM Latino Network, the SHPE Detroit Chapter, and the Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation, helping bridge the gap between corporate opportunity and community empowerment. His efforts were nationally recognized in 2012 with the HACR Young Hispanic Corporate Achievers Award.
Mauricio holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, a Master’s in Manufacturing Management from Kettering University, and certifications as a Six Sigma Master Black Belt (MBB) and Project Management Professional (PMP) — a combination that reflects his commitment to lifelong learning and operational mastery.
As minority-owned enterprises continue to shape the future of American industry, leaders like Mauricio Pincheira are setting the standard — building resilient organizations, advancing equity, and driving sustainable innovation in every sector they touch.
