TIDEWATER

The new site posts every price, lists 21 pound cake flavors, and takes Thanksgiving orders through November 10.

DENHAM SPRINGS, La. (November 1, 2026) Mary Louise Cakez, a home bakery in Denham Springs, has launched its first website at marylouisecakez.com. Customers can now read the full menu, see prices and send an order online. Until now, the bakery took orders by text and Instagram.

The bakery is owned and run by Latosha “Tosha” Harris, who started selling in 2025. She makes pound cakes, sweet potato pies, brownies, cheesecakes, jelly stack cakes and lighter desserts from scratch, using what her grandmother, Mary Louise, taught her. The business carries her grandmother’s name.

The website was designed and built by BlakSheep Creative, a web design and digital marketing studio based in Denham Springs.

A menu customers can read before they ask

The site is built around the printed Sweet Menu. It uses the same pink, teal and gold colors and the same bold lettering, and the photos show the baker’s own work.

Pound cakes have a page of their own, with 21 flavors in three sizes, along with bundts, minis and a snack pack. Sizes, approximate servings and prices appear together. The full menu page lists the rest of the bakery’s items, and any item without a set price says to ask.

The flavors run from classics like lemon, butter, vanilla and sour cream to caramel, praline with pecans, banana nut, pineapple upside down and strawberry lemonade. Red velvet comes with or without chocolate chips. The customer picks only the flavor, because the glaze is chosen to go with it. A small 6-inch cake feeds about 2 to 3 people, a medium 8-inch about 3 to 4, and a large 10-inch about 7 to 12.

More than pound cake

The menu goes well past pound cake. Brownies come by the pan or the container, from chewy fudge to red velvet with cream cheese icing. Cheesecakes come as minis or 9-inch rounds, in plain, turtle, praline pecan or strawberry. The jelly stack cake is layered with apple or strawberry jelly. Sweet potato pies come in a 9-inch size or as minis with a cream cheese swirl, and lighter desserts include fresh pineapple cake, ooey gooey pans and lemon bars.

Customers have been quick to say what they think, and the site shows their texts as written. “I ate them all. At one time,” one customer wrote. Another wrote, “That cheesecake the truth my girl. I had a piece last night. You something serious over there.”

Ordering that keeps a personal step

The online form asks for the item, the day it is needed, and pickup or delivery. Nothing is charged online. Harris reviews each order and texts the customer to confirm the total and a 50 percent deposit, which holds the date. The bakery asks for 24 hours’ notice on every order.

Customers who prefer to text or call can still reach the bakery at (225) 480-5010. Pickup is available in Baton Rouge, Denham Springs or Walker, and delivery is $30. Harris sets the time and spot with each customer by text. The bakery does not ship.

“My grandmother, the matriarch of our family, passed away in 2022. The holidays were her time to shine through baking, and cooking. She taught me how to bake at just 12 years old, and now I honor her memory by keeping her love, traditions, and legacy alive through every cake I create,” said Harris.

Thanksgiving orders open through November 10

A dedicated Thanksgiving page lists a limited holiday menu: pound cakes, sweet potato pies, mini sweet potato pies, a two layer jelly cake, red velvet cake and ooey gooey butter. Orders are open November 1 through November 10, with pickup dates of November 23 through 25. Slots are limited and go first come, first served, because Harris bakes every order herself.

A home kitchen, stated plainly

Mary Louise Cakez operates as a home bakery under Louisiana’s cottage food law, La. R.S. 40:4.9. The law lets home bakers sell directly to customers with a disclosure, and that disclosure appears on every page of the site.

Announcing the launch, Harris gave the credit to her faith and her supporters. “Above all, I thank GOD and those who pour into me daily, encourage me, and believe in my vision,” she wrote. “Your support means everything!” She added, “This is only the beginning!”

“Tosha already had a menu and a way of working that fit her,” said Clint Sanchez, founder of BlakSheep Creative. “We did not want to replace that. We wanted a customer to be able to see the flavors and prices and send an order at any hour, and for Tosha to still be the one who answers.”

The full menu and order form are available at marylouisecakez.com. More about the project is in the BlakSheep Creative project page.
